Hi, all.
Seeing as I don't want to impose myself and my own rules upon the community, I thought it would be better if I asked this as a question, for the community to decide, rather than me deciding what everyone has to accept. I am wondering what you all think about having a time limit on posts, in that whether the post should remain open for the member to edit/delete forever, or posts be prevented from being edited/deleted after x time. What do you think? If I were to choose, I would impose a time-limit upon editing/deleting posts.
There may be valuable information in a post, so I think they should not be edited/deleted. If one is in a heated argument, they could simply delete/edit their post if they get the hump. I am against editing/deleting posts in such cases. Editing would be needed for mistypes, formatting mistakes, etc., but deleting/editing because others are not agreeing with you or because you feel ganged-up on or so you can try and change what you said, to try and get your own back on others, etc., I disagree with. I think editing and deleting posts after a set time should be disallowed.
That's my opinion. What do you think? Please reply with your thoughts about this, and your reasons why you are for or against.
Thanks.

I believe it would be a good idea to allow forever to delete a post, just for privacy. Idk.

Deleting a post even after three years or more after it having been published, it is perfectly normal and also privacy compliant
